Pokémon TCG Pocket’s next expansion, Deluxe Pack: Mega, launches on September 29, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. PDT, or September 30 for players in Europe. Every four-card pack guarantees a Pokémon ex, giving collectors another chance to fill gaps from recent expansions.
The announcement also previews a substantial update arriving toward the end of October, including community decks, unlimited rental-deck use and a replacement for the current step-up battles. If you still have solo-battle rewards left to earn, those are worth putting on your to-do list.

What’s inside Deluxe Pack: Mega?
The expansion revisits cards from Mega Rising through Ruler of the Skies, including reissues of every four-diamond (♦♦♦♦) card from those expansions.

Each pack contains four cards, with a guaranteed Pokémon ex. Parallel foil cards and cards featuring new artwork will also be available, giving players who already own the original versions something else to collect.
For anyone still missing an ex from that run of expansions, the guaranteed pull is the main attraction. It does not guarantee a particular card, but every pack gives you another ex for your collection.
Mega Charizard X covers and backdrops will also be available starting September 30.
Community decks and unlimited rental decks arrive in October
A new community decks feature will let players search for decks that others have made public. If you own the required cards, you’ll be able to build those decks yourself.
Rental decks are getting a significant change, too. The current rental decks will be deleted, and players will instead be able to rent decks featuring cards from the latest booster packs. These will have unlimited uses in both solo and versus battles.
That should make it easier to try recent cards in battle before collecting everything needed to build a deck of your own.
Theme deck lists and deck missions will be discontinued as part of the changes. The update is planned for toward the end of October 2026, with more details still to come.
Finish your current step-up battles before the update
The existing step-up battles will be replaced by a new solo-battle system, with difficulty increasing as players progress through its stages.
Once the update arrives, the current step-up battles and their first-time rewards and battle tasks will no longer be available. If you have unfinished stages or tasks, complete them before the change to avoid missing those rewards.
The announcement also confirms that Release Celebration: Poké Gold deals will be discontinued when the new series begins. Until then, the deals can be purchased in-game or through the official Pokémon TCG Pocket web store.
Events coming alongside Deluxe Pack: Mega
Mass outbreak event
A mass outbreak event running from late September to early October will feature parallel foil cards in rare picks and bonus picks.
Event missions will offer shop tickets for picking and collecting certain cards.
Ranked Match Season B4b SP
Running from mid- to late October, Ranked Match Season B4b SP will make climbing the ranks more forgiving:
- Players will earn more rank points than usual.
- The win-streak bonus will extend to ten consecutive wins.
- Defeats will cost no rank points, regardless of rank.
- Players will not drop in rank after a defeat.
If losing progress has put you off ranked battles, this season looks like a good opportunity to give them another go.
Mega Garchomp ex Drop Event
The Mega Garchomp ex Drop Event will let players earn B Series vol. 13 promo packs through solo battles.
Charmander and Drampa wonder pick event
An upcoming wonder pick event will feature Charmander and Drampa cards to collect.
Exact dates for the Drop Event and wonder pick event have not been provided in this announcement. Further details about the late-October update are also still to come.
