Scopely Postpones Pokémon GO’s Boston City Safari Ahead of Storm

    pokemon go boston city safari

Scopely has postponed Pokémon GO City Safari: Boston ahead of an incoming storm. The event was scheduled for September 26 and 27, 2026, with Trainers heading out across the city for two days of catching and exploring.

In an official announcement, Scopely said it had been monitoring forecasts for the Boston metropolitan area and decided to reschedule because of the storm’s expected severity.

When will Boston City Safari take place?

A replacement date has not been announced. Ticket sales have closed, and Scopely says it will share the revised event details and options for existing ticket holders as soon as possible.

For anyone who already bought a ticket, the announcement leaves a few questions unanswered. Scopely has not yet confirmed whether refunds will be available or explained how existing tickets and add-ons will be handled.

    Storm forecast for the weekend

The Guardian reports a weekend nor’easter could bring strong winds and flooding to Boston and other parts of New England.

The original City Safari plans included encounters with Mudbray and Hawlucha, increased Shiny chances for ticket holders, and a GO Stamp Rally rewarding encounters with Eevee wearing an explorer hat. Pokémon GO Hub’s event guide covers the previously announced lineup and bonuses.

It’s disappointing news for players who had a trip planned, especially those with travel and accommodation already booked. If you’re in Boston this weekend, keep an eye on local weather updates while waiting for Scopely’s next announcement.
