Pokémon UNITE Aeos Crown 2027 will bring 32 teams to Tokyo on March 20–21, 2027, with a total prize pool of $1 million USD. Online regional qualifiers begin rolling out on December 5, 2026, giving eligible teams a chance to earn their place at the finals.
The September 22 announcement confirms an open tournament format, travel awards for qualifying teams and the use of All-Star Draft during the later stages of the competition. The champions will also receive a physical crown, the Aeos Crown.
UNITE gets its own international tournament
Aeos Crown follows the decision to hold UNITE’s international championship separately from the Pokémon World Championships. In its Championship Series update, the team confirmed that Pokémon UNITE will not be part of Worlds 2027 and will instead hold Aeos Crown in Tokyo.
That earlier announcement gave a tentative November qualifier start. The new schedule confirms that qualifiers will begin from December 5, 2026, with individual regions starting in sequence.

How teams qualify for the Tokyo finals
The regional qualifiers use an open format, allowing any team that meets its region’s eligibility requirements to take part. Qualifiers will be held online, with the participating regions and their detailed schedules to be announced.
The 32 places at the finals are split between:
- 31 teams advancing through the regional qualifiers.
- The Pokémon UNITE World Championships 2026 champion, which receives the remaining place.
How All-Star Draft works
Under All-Star Draft, a Pokémon that has already been selected cannot be picked again within the same match. That should put more emphasis on flexible lineups and a wider pool of Pokémon.
The format will apply at these stages:
- Regional qualifiers: only on the final day of each qualifier.
- Tokyo finals: throughout all matches.
